Our Practice, OMFS is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice consisting of 10 oral surgeons and 1 oral medicine specialist.
Our state of the art facility was purpose built in ****, designed to allow for optimum patient care. Our team of professionals care for patients from all areas of Victoria and all backgrounds - we strive to make sure our patients feel comfortable when attending their appointment.
We are looking for an additional nurse to join our team, someone who is ready to take on a challenge and work within our amazing group of surgeons and experienced nurses.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, energetic, enjoy a challenge and must have an eye for detail. You need to be ready to learn, able to problem solve, think ahead and work within a team.
We will teach you the ins & outs of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery nursing, support you through our buddy system and you will learn from our experienced nursing team and our highly regarded surgeons at OMFS.
You must have either a
dental nursing certificate
or
registered
nursing certificate
.
Oral surgery / operating room experience is preferable.
Our new practice is within the CBD (near Vic Market and Melbourne Central train station). Within our building is a gym which can be used by all staff and ground floor café. We have satellite practices for consulting and operating spread over metro Melbourne, Mornington, Geelong and country Victoria.



Our oral and maxillofacial surgery nurses may be rostered in various locations, often changing from am to pm. This is variable on experience, your home location and staffing.

Training
is provided by our experienced nursing team and surgeons. The successful applicant will be working in the following areas: consulting, assisting with surgical procedures under local anaesthetic and assisting in operating lists under general anaesthetic.
Our experienced staff take pride in training new staff, demonstrating techniques, working through procedures and sharing hints they have learnt over the years.
This role is a fulltime position, over a 9 day fortnight, or 4 days per week ( for the right candidate).The hours are usually from 7.30am- 5.30pm
Your ability to work as part of a team, whilst assuming responsibility for your own workload is essential with the following:
Excellent communication skills with colleagues and patients

Go-getter with loads of enthusiasm
Willingness to listen, to learn & to be challenged
Currents driver's license and reliable car
Working with children check and police check
