Job Description

This is a Full time or Part-Time Dog Groomer position, responsible for providing high-quality grooming services while ensuring every dog is handled safely, calmly and compassionately.

n

Key responsibilities

n

Bathing, shampooing and conditioning dogs using appropriate products and techniques suited to different coat types and skin needs

n

Trimming, clipping and styling coats according to breed standards and individual client preferences

n

Performing nail trimming, ear cleaning and other general hygiene maintenance

n

Safely handling and restraining dogs throughout the grooming process

n

Assessing each dog's coat and grooming requirements before commencing a groom

n

Using a range of grooming equipment safely and effectively

n

Maintaining high standards of grooming quality and attention to detail

n

Communicating with clients and doggy parents to understand their grooming requirements

n

Providing professional advice and recommendations regarding coat maintenance, grooming schedules and breed-specific care

n

Keeping detailed and accurate grooming records for each dog

n

About you

n





Has completed relevant dog grooming training and/or holds a recognised grooming qualification

n

Has experience grooming a variety of breeds, coat types and sizes

n

Has a robust understanding of dog anatomy, coat types, breed standards and grooming techniques

n

Is confident with bathing, drying, clipping, trimming, styling and general dog hygiene

n

Has excellent dog-handling skills and can safely manage anxious, nervous or difficult dogs

n

Can remain calm, patient and skilled when working with challenging dogs

n

Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in delivering high-quality results

n

Has excellent communication and customer service skills

n

Is reliable, punctual and takes responsibility for their work
