LS TRADING MECHANICAL & ENGINEERING PTY LTD / TYREPLUS GLADSTONE is seeking an experienced and qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to join the team in a full time permanent position. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles to a high professional and safety standard.
Key responsibilities
Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and inspecting parts for wear or damage.
Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups.
Reassembling engines and vehicle components after repairs have been completed.
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper performance and safe operation.
Diagnosing and testing vehicle systems and components with the assistance of computers and diagnostic equipment.
Inspecting vehicles and identifying work required to achieve protected and roadworthy operating condition.
Responding to vehicle breakdowns and carrying out repairs where required.
Maintaining a clean and safe workshop and complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
About you
Proven experience working as a Motor Mechanic.
Relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification.
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience in servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of motor vehicles.
Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills and solid attention to detail.
Current driver's licence or ability to meet the driving requirements of the role.
