nAbout the Unit — Medical 7W Medical 7W cares for adult patients with common diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This unit helps build solid skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management.n
nOverview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains skilled accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.



Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.n
nQualifications Education:n
nGraduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure:n
nMust hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations. Experience:n
nPrevious hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit. Certifications: Required:n
nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications Education:n
nBSN preferred Licensure:n
nAdditional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred Experience:n
nPrior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing dutiesn
