About the role
n
12-month contract is available for a Graduate or Junior Biochemist to join a specialised production and purification laboratory.
n
Working from established protocols, you will assist with the synthesis, purification and characterisation of deuterium-labelled molecules. This role would suit a recent graduate looking to build practical laboratory experience while working with advanced analytical instruments.

Duties
n
n
Synthesise deuterium-labelled molecules using established methods
n
Purify and characterise molecules using laboratory techniques
n
Operate chromatography, MS, NMR and IR systems
n
Maintain and troubleshoot assigned laboratory instruments
n
Support laboratory operations,



documentation, safety and quality
n
n
Skills/experience
n
n
Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline
n
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; Honours is highly regarded
n
Practical laboratory experience from university, research or industry
n
Exposure to chromatography, MS, NMR, IR or protein purification
n
Microbial culture, fermentation or molecular biology experience is desirable
n
Australian citizenship is essential for site security requirements
