Join ALS Coal – Richlands, QLD as a Full-time Coal Quality Tester! About the Position: Opportunities exist for a Coal Quality Tester based at our Acland site. The role will include duties within the Physical Testing and Analytical Laboratory. Reporting to the Analytical Laboratory Manager, you will be involved in aspects of Coal Testing and Analysis, Quality, Turnaround Time, Client Service and Productivity. Key Responsibilities
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a protected and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions
Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances
Maintaining laboratory equipment: Preparation Equipment, Ovens/Furnaces, Balances
Optimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintained
Ensuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed
Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas
Skills/Qualifications
Full training will be provided to the successful candidates. However, to be considered for this position you will have:
A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
Attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Ability to work 12- hour shifts, rotating between day and night shift
Good Organisation and Communication Skills
Reliable and Trustworthy
Previous industry experience would be an advantage
Valid Drivers' License
12-hour shifts will be required
As part of the selection process,



a pre-employment medical exam is required; including a drug and alcohol assessment.
