Wander is a small 24-seat neighbourhood restaurant in Woolooware, recently relocated from London to Sydney. We offer an ever-changing seasonal menu, friendly and qualified service, and a carefully curated natural wine list.

We’re currently looking for a reliable and hard-working Casual Kitchen Hand to join our small team.

About the role

This is a hands-on support role working alongside our chef and front of house team during service.

The role is primarily focused on keeping the kitchen clean and organised and helping the restaurant run smoothly throughout service.

Key responsibilities include:
Washing dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
General kitchen cleaning throughout service and at the end of the night
Keeping the kitchen and dishwashing areas clean and organised
Assisting the chef with general kitchen tasks as required
Polishing cutlery and glassware
Sweeping and mopping floors
Emptying bins and managing waste
Assisting with the end-of-night kitchen close-down

Comfortable with a physically active role
Able to follow instructions and work independently when required
Available to work Friday and Saturday evenings on a regular basis

Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but not essential. Reliability, attitude and a willingness to work hard are more significant. Hours & availability

Wander is open Wednesday to Saturday, with shifts generally running from 5pm until close.

Weekend availability is essential for this position. Applicants must be able to work Friday and Saturday evenings.

Additional Wednesday and Thursday shifts are also available depending on availability and business requirements.

Pay: $26.44 – $45.04 per hour Expected hours: 12.0 – 20.0 per week
