Some in-house roles give you a desk and a contract review queue. This one puts you right in the middle of Australia's energy transition.
My client is an established Australian renewable energy business with a diverse project pipeline and plenty of momentum. With several projects progressing through key stages, they're growing their in-house legal team and looking for a Legal Counsel to join them on the journey.
Why this one stands out
Broad exposure across the full project lifecycle, from development through to financing, construction and operations
Close working relationship with senior legal leadership, so you'll learn quickly and be visible early
A supportive, cooperative culture that people genuinely enjoy being part of
Hybrid working and a excellent Sydney location
A team that welcomes fresh thinking, including smart use of technology and AI
What you'll be doing
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial and project agreements
Advising on legal issues across different stages of the project lifecycle
Supporting governance and compliance activities
Providing legal research on matters relevant to the business
Working with internal teams, external advisors and stakeholders, including on more complex negotiations
What you'll bring
2 to 7 years PQE, from private practice, in-house, or a combination of both
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, ideally in energy, infrastructure or construction
Exposure to regulatory or compliance frameworks is a bonus
Experience with government contracts will be well regarded
Solid communication skills, sharp attention to detail, and comfort owning your work
A low-ego, team-first approach and a genuine interest in renewables
