Fat Chef Ballarat is seeking a full-time Cook to join our kitchen team. You will work closely with the Chef and other kitchen staff to maintain high culinary standards and support the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and quality standards ensuring consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.
Follow directions from Chef and work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to maintain smooth and efficient food preparation and service.
Prepare ingredients as required and check the quality and freshness of all food items before and during cooking.
Operate and monitor cooking equipment, ensuring proper temperature control and safe usage.
Plate and garnish dishes accurately and consistently in line with restaurant standards and customer expectations.
Store ingredients and prepared food in appropriate temperature-controlled areas and ensure proper labelling, stock rotation, and minimisation of waste.
Assist in monitoring stock levels and notify Chef of low inventory or supply requirements.




Assist with the training of recent or junior kitchen staff in food preparation and kitchen procedures as directed.
Ensure all kitchen tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good working condition.
Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all time.

About you
Hold Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery
Have at least 1 year of experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
Be a solid team player with a cooperative and reliable work ethic
Be organized and punctual and confident working during busy service periods
Take pride in producing consistent, high-quality food
Have valuable communication and interpersonal skills
Have a valuable understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements
Be available to work flexible shifts across weekdays and weekends
