About the position
n
The Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Group Facilitator delivers high quality, evidence based and trauma informed therapeutic day rehabilitation to individuals impacted by alcohol & other drugs. The Alcohol & Other Drug Group Facilitators are responsible for the coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of the Making A Change (MAC) therapeutic day rehabilitation program across the Grampians and Wimmera region.

This program is targeted at addressing psychosocial causes of alcohol & other drug use for the purpose of sustainable recovery.
n
This position forms part of the Counselling & AOD team and collaborates with related programs, as requires.

Skills and experience
n
Qualifications
n
n
Minimum Cert IV in Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) or related community services discipline.
n
Relevant qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Counselling or related field.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
Experience facilitating structured Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) group programs.
n
Strong understanding of Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) treatment, harm reduction and behaviour change models.
n
Experience working with diverse communities, including involuntary clients.
n
Knowledge of trauma informed practice and cultural safety.
n
High level group facilitation skills including managing complex dynamics.
n
Strong assessment and clinical judgement.
