Delivery Lead (SAFe / Scrum) - 6 Month Contract

We're working with an established Sydney software company to bring on a Delivery Lead on an initial 6 month contract.

They build and run their own product, with around 25 developers across four squads delivering in 2 week sprints under a SAFe framework. The work is a mix of on-prem and cloud (AWS and Azure), with more cloud coming.

This is not a big-enterprise release manager role with a process for everything. It's a small organisation with a lot of governance and not a lot of structure. The Delivery Lead sits across the whole delivery function, has a Scrum Master reporting in, and is the person who keeps the squads moving and the noise away from them.

What you'll be doing:
Owning end to end delivery across multiple initiatives, from PI Planning through to release
Running scrum and scaled agile ceremonies for your own squads, alongside the Scrum Master
Reporting on delivery, resourcing and timesheets to the exec team
Making sure the governance frameworks are followed, and pushing back when they aren't
Working with Product to translate the roadmap into what the dev teams build next
Pulling people together. Squads, Product, execs, vendors

The workplace:




SAFe, Scrum, 2 week sprints
AWS and Azure, plus on-prem
4 squads, 4 to 5 developers in each
Sydney CBD, 2 days a week in the office

What we're looking for:
5+ years leading delivery in agile settings, ideally a mix of large enterprise and smaller companies
Protected and Scrum Master certifications. PMP or Prince2 on top is a bonus
Comfortable with ambiguity. Things won't always line up and you need to be ok with that
Technical enough to earn respect from developers. A development background is a big plus
Experience on cloud migration or on-prem to cloud programs
Energy. Someone who can pull a room together, not a box ticker
Bonus points if you're already using AI tools in your own workflow and have opinions on them
