About the role
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Fibre Optic Technician to join a fast-moving and growing team working on the rollout and operation of a high-performance Dark Fibre Network across Sydney.
This is a hands‐on, predominantly field‐based role covering fibre installation, splicing, testing, commissioning and fault finding.
Key responsibilities
Single‐strand and mass ribbon fusion splicing
Fibre cable preparation into ODFs and joint enclosures
Installation of fibre termination panels and ODFs
Dark fibre testing including OTDR, IL and CD/PMD
Network commissioning and planned cuteovers
Fault finding across dark and live fibre networks
Cable hauling, patching and labelling
Quality assurance and maintaining accurate as‐built documentation
Project handovers
Supervising internal crews and subcontractors when required
About you




Experience in telecommunications or carrier networks highly regarded
Experience with fibre, CAT or coax cabling
Strong fault‐finding and testing capability
Positive understanding of WHS requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to quality and documentation
Supervisory or QA experience would be highly regarded
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
Current Australian driver's licence preferred
