Job Description
Light Vehicle Mechanic / Automotive Technician

Chinchilla, QLD | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | No Weekends

Above-award pay – negotiable based on experience

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our busy automotive workshop in Chinchilla.
n
We are a locally owned and operated business with a strong customer base and a reputation for providing quality workmanship, honest advice and reliable service.

About the Role
n
Working as part of a small and experienced team, you will carry out a wide variety of servicing, diagnostic and mechanical repair work across different makes and models.
n
Your duties will include:
n
n
Logbook and general vehicle servicing
n
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
n
Brake, steering and suspension repairs
n
Cooling system repairs
n
Clutch and driveline repairs
n
Battery and charging system testing
n
Vehicle inspections
n
Preventative maintenance
n
General mechanical repairs
n
Using diagnostic equipment and scan tools
n
Identifying additional repairs or maintenance requirements
n
Providing accurate information to the service team
n
Completing jobs efficiently and to a high standard
n
Maintaining accurate job card information
n
Ensuring vehicles are treated with care
n
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for someone who is reliable, capable and takes pride in their workmanship.
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
n
Previous experience working as a qualified mechanic
n
Current Australian driver's licence
n
Strong mechanical knowledge
n
Valuable diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
n
Ability to work independently
n
Ability to work well within a small team
n
Good attention to detail
n
Strong time-management skills
n
A positive and professional attitude
n
Good communication skills
n
A commitment to quality workmanship
n
A strong focus on workplace safety
n
n
Experience with diagnostic equipment and working across a variety of makes and models will be highly regarded.
