We’re looking for an experienced Data Architect to provide technical leadership across a large-scale federal government data setting.

This is a senior role focused on Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Data Integration and Data Delivery , working closely with development teams, data consumers and other technical stakeholders to design and govern effective data solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:
Providing technical leadership through design reviews, technical workshops and guidance on implementation best practice
Reviewing and refining data delivery frameworks, including integration of recent data sources and performance improvements
Defining peer review, data modelling and release standards
Providing knowledge transfer and mentoring across data modelling, development and release processes
Leading the technical implementation of new data from analysis through to delivery
Driving continuous improvement across delivery principles, coding standards and documentation
Prioritising work items and supporting delivery planning
Analysing and sizing user requirements
Providing guidance on Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models




Reviewing data models and designs and providing technical guidance to engineers and modellers
Maintaining technical and system documentation
Working closely with data consumers, database developers, testers and IT support teams
Supporting the development of consumable reporting and analytics to address business risks and emerging trends

You’ll need robust experience across enterprise data settings, with demonstrated capability in:
Data Architecture , including enterprise-scale conformed data models and analytical data design
AWS cloud data environments , including S3 and contemporary cloud data warehouse technologies
Technical leadership across Cloud Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms
ETL and data governance design and implementation
Data modelling, including peer review and providing guidance to technical teams
DevOps processes
Version control and appropriate branching/release practices
Data modelling tools such as Erwin
Strong SQL skills, with experience in contemporary analytics languages such as Python or R highly regarded
Reverse engineering end-user SQL and interpreting existing data models and specifications
Metadata or model-driven frameworks

Experience working in an Agile environment is also highly regarded.
