Machine Operator Full Time - Immediate Start

BGH Commercial is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. This position is based in Cairns, QLD and offers the opportunity to work with modern plant and machinery in a fast-paced construction environment. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in the safe and effective operation of specialised equipment, directly contributing to the successful completion of our projects and maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and safety excellence.

Key responsibilities

Operate a range of plant and machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines
n
Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition
n
Follow construction plans, drawings and instructions to position machinery and materials accurately
n
Monitor equipment performance during operation and identify any mechanical issues or faults
n
Maintain accurate records of equipment hours, fuel consumption and maintenance activities
n
Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations
n
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, site policies and industry best practices
n
Report any accidents, incidents or hazards to management immediately
n
Contribute to a positive workplace culture through teamwork and professional conduct
n
What we're looking for
n
Current and valid operator's licence relevant to the type of machinery you will be operating
n




Proven experience operating plant and machinery in construction or related industries
n
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and operational manuals
n
Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
n
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction from site supervisors
n
Flexibility to work varied hours as required by project schedules
n
Induction training and site-specific safety qualifications (we can provide training if required)
