Assistant Production Operator – Manufacturing | Forklift Licence Required

Ausperl is a leading Australian manufacturer of perlite, vermiculite and filter aid products. We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Assistant Production Operator to join our manufacturing team at our Padstow facility.
n
Working alongside the Lead Operator, you will play an significant role in keeping our production plant running safely, efficiently and continuously.
n
This is a hands‐on manufacturing role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, working with machinery and being part of a team.
n
About the role
n
As an Assistant Production Operator, you will assist with the day-to‐day operation of our Filter Aid (FA) production plant.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Preparing the plant and packing materials at the start of each shift
n
Checking equipment is ready and work areas are safe
n
Taking initial product samples for approval before production begins
n
Operating bagging stations and keeping production running efficiently
n
Bagging product to the correct weight
n
Stacking product correctly onto pallets
n
Checking product and pallet labels
n
Wrapping, tagging and preparing completed pallets for storage
n
Taking regular product samples and assisting with quality checks
n
Recording production and quality information accurately
n
Identifying and reporting production, quality or equipment issues
n
Supporting plant start‐up and shutdown activities
n
Assisting with basic equipment checks and minor maintenance tasks
n
Operating a forklift safely
n
Maintaining a clean and organised production area
n
Participating in toolbox talks and safety meetings
n
Following all WHS, quality and operating procedures
n




Assisting with plant cleaning and housekeeping
n
Working closely with the Lead Operator and other members of the production team
n
Completing a proper handover at the end of each shift
n
n
The role is important to maintaining consistent production output, product quality and a safe workplace.
