ROLE – Dual-Trade Mechanical Fitter / Electrician

SALARY – $115,000 - $130,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Southwest Sydney, NSW

My client is a leading manufacturer of specialist products. They are looking for an experienced Dual-Trade Mechanical Fitter / Electrician to join their maintenance team in Southwest Sydney on a permanent basis.

The Dual-Trade Mechanical Fitter / Electrician will ideally have the following attributes:
At least 3 years of experience working as an Electrical-Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Technician, Dual-Trade Technician or similar
Electrical trade qualifications, with dual-trade experience highly regarded
Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial setting
Robust mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
Solid knowledge of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics and industrial electrical systems
Able to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and engineering drawings
Experience with welding, fabrication or machining would be advantageous




A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Good communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative workplace

The Dual-Trade Mechanical Fitter / Electrician role will involve:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing equipment and site machinery
Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repairs
Maintaining and repairing conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
Carrying out machinery installations, modifications and mechanical/electrical improvements
Assisting with commissioning, installation and equipment upgrades
Identifying recurring mechanical and electrical issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Completing maintenance records and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained
Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance
Working in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures
