North Sydney location From $60 per hour + super Immediate start Support the finance team while a permanent role is recruited We're looking for an experienced accountant to join the APAC finance team of an established skilled services business on a short-term basis.
With a permanent recruitment process underway, the CFO needs someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of key month-end activities and help keep reporting on schedule.
You'll work closely with the CFO, finance team and senior stakeholders across the business.
The role offers a mix of hands-on financial accounting and analysis, with an immediate focus on delivering a reliable month-end close.
Your responsibilities will include: Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
Completing balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items.
Supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
Analysing results,



explaining variances and providing transparent commentary to stakeholders.
Assisting with Group reporting and maintaining accurate supporting schedules and audit trails.
Working with the wider finance team to meet reporting deadlines and address issues as they arise.
You'll have strong month-end and financial reporting experience, a sound understanding of general ledger accounting and the confidence to work independently after a short handover.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders are important.
Experience with NetSuite or within a skilled services business would be advantageous.
This assignment would suit someone available at short notice who enjoys getting across a business quickly and making a practical contribution from day one.
