Travellers Autobarn is a global campervan rental company, born in Australia and now operating across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the U.S. Our Cairns branch is looking for a practical, reliable and hands‐on Assistant Branch Manager to join the team.

This is a hands‐on role with plenty of variety. One moment you'll be helping a customer get on the road, the next you'll be checking a vehicle, fixing a minor maintenance issue or organising work with one of our local repairers.

This is not a desk job. You'll work alongside the Branch Manager across the whole operation: customers, vehicles, maintenance, staff and the day‐to‐day running of the branch. We're looking for someone who can take responsibility, solve problems and get stuck in.

What You'll Do
n
n
Support the Branch Manager with the day‐to‐day running of the Cairns branch.
n
Help lead the team and keep the day organised, productive and moving.
n
Oversee vehicle preparation and cleaning quality, stepping in for detail work and touch‐ups when required.
n
Complete vehicle checks, identify faults and carry out minor repairs and maintenance.
n
Coordinate larger mechanical work with our external repairers and suppliers.
n
Deliver great customer service across campervan pick‐ups, returns and everything in between.
n
Keep maintenance records, fleet movements, expenses and other branch admin up to date.
n
Maintain a clean,



organised and safe workplace.

Drive local sales, upsell extras and support vehicle sales.
n

What You Bring
n
Must‐Haves:
n
n
A valid driver's licence.
n
Strong practical, mechanical or handyman skills — you're comfortable using tools and figuring things out.
n
Strong communication skills — transparent, calm and confident.
n
Good attention to detail and an organised approach.
n
A strong work ethic — you show up, step up and follow through.
n
Confidence using computers, apps and basic admin systems.
n
n
Bonus Points For:

n
Experience in automotive, rentals, tourism or hospitality.
n
Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
n
Experience maintaining vehicles, caravans, campervans or similar.
n
A love of travel, road trips and the outdoors.

What You'll Get

$60,000 base salary + super
n
Monthly commission on insurance, add‐ons and vehicle sales — no cap
n
Monthly performance bonus — up to $500 (at risk)
n
Annual $5,000 retention bonus (at risk)
n
OTE $70,000–$75,000+
n
Free annual international campervan hire

Full training and ongoing support.
