We are recruiting an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse with scrub/scout experience to join a well-regarded private short-stay hospital in Brisbane on a full-time basis. The roster is Monday to Friday, with limited optional weekend work and no public holidays. About the Facility
Our client is a specialised short-stay private hospital with four operating theatres, a procedure room, treatment rooms, a 12-bed PACU, a Stage 3 recovery area and a small surgical ward. It supports a broad range of specialties including gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology, general and colorectal surgery, dermatology and Mohs, IVF, breast and endocrine surgery, plastic surgery and oral surgery. The hospital is close to public transport and is part of a national network of specialist hospitals focused on elective, day and short-stay surgery.
The Role
You will join the perioperative team as a scrub/scout Registered Nurse, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to keep patient safety central at every stage of the surgical journey. The role also includes supervising and supporting Enrolled Nurses on shift.
In this role, you will:
Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative care,



monitoring patient wellbeing at each stage of their stay
Prepare the theatre, equipment and clinical environment for safe, efficient surgery
Maintain clear team communication, assess patient progress and respond promptly to changes or complications
Provide patients with clear education and guidance to support their recovery at home
Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses on shift
Contribute to continuous improvement and safety across the hospital
What You Will Bring
Solid experience in perioperative scrub/scout nursing in a surgical hospital setting
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
The ability to build and maintain robust working relationships with patients, doctors, staff and other stakeholders
Solid time management, organisational and communication skills
