Job Description

A large Melbourne organisation is looking for a hands-on Oracle PL/SQL developer to take on a complex, business-critical application estate on a 12-month contract.

/n

It's a genuine legacy setting with years of change layered on top of each other, across a mix of vendor products and in-house builds. You'd be the person who learns it properly, keeps it running, and untangles it as you go. The person who currently holds it together is moving onto a major program, so they need someone who can take it off him and stand on their own reasonably quickly.

/n

This is hands-on development. No architecture, no team leadership, you'll be in the code every day, solving hard problems with minimal supervision.

What you'll be doing /n

/n
Design, develop, test and maintain Oracle and PL/SQL solutions across a complex, high-availability portfolio

/n
Root cause analysis and defect resolution on difficult application and database issues

/n
Work through a structured SDLC with design governance, code review and change management

/n
Support workplace stability, deployments and vendor release activity

/n

Experience inside a large,



established codebase rather than greenfield builds

Robust troubleshooting and root cause analysis, working independently

Structured SDLC, coding standards, code review, version control

Patience for working with third-party vendors
