We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sewing Machinist to join our friendly team.

As a Garments Alteration Sewing Machinist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of alteration and repair tasks on a wide range of garments, including casual wear, formal attire, bridal wear, and more.
n
You will also be expected to assist with other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the shop.
n
Key Responsibilities
n

Perform alterations, repairs, and customizations on various types of clothing.
n
Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlockers, and other relevant equipment.
n
Carry out tasks such as hemming, taking in/letting out seams,
shortening/lengthening
garments, and other intricate adjustments.
n
Handle different fabrics, including delicate materials, with care and precision.
n




Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with fittings, advising on alteration possibilities, and addressing any questions.
n
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good condition.
n
Stay open to learning new sewing techniques and taking on additional tasks as required.

Requirements

Proven experience in garment alterations and tailoring (preferably in a similar role).
n
Proficient in operating sewing machines and other tailoring tools.
n
Ability to work with various types of fabrics and garments, including delicate and high-end items.
n
Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
n
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to shop needs.
n
Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
