Role Overview n
We are seeking a HSEQ Manager specialising in build construction and OSFC related work to join a growing Tier 2 construction company.
n
My client is expanding at a significant rate due to a strong reputation and company culture encouraging good employee tenure. Retaining positive people and strong supportive culture including HSEQ is key for the CEO and company mission.
n
The successful candidate will work with the executive team to develop, implement, and audit integrated management systems that meet certification and accreditation requirements. Filtering into a safe and well organised project team(s).
Key Responsibilities n
n
Develop and implement HSEQ management systems aligned to ISO *****, ISO ****, ISO *****, and the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme.
n
Conduct internal audits against ISO standards and the FSC Audit Criteria, including preparation of audit reports, findings, and corrective action recommendations.
n
Facilitate workshops to map business processes, identify gaps, and design system requirements that meet relevant standards and regulatory obligations.
n
Conduct site audits and safety inspections across client construction operations, including high-risk environments.
n
Develop tailored HSEQ strategies, frameworks, and improvement plans for construction clients.
n
HSEQ Operational duties as well as strategic direction dovetailing into won tenders and ongoing projects
n
Provide ongoing advisory support to clients pursuing or maintaining certification and accreditation.
n
Essential Experience & Qualifications n
n




5–8 years' experience in HSEQ consulting, GRC, or in-house management systems roles within the construction industry.
n
Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Quality, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
n
Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO ***** (OH&S;), ISO **** (Quality), ISO ***** (Environment), and OFSC WHS Accreditation Scheme.
n
Proven experience developing and implementing integrated management or uplifting existing systems for construction businesses.
n
Internal auditing experience against ISO standards (Lead Auditor qualification highly regarded).
n
Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, including with senior client stakeholders.
n
Hands-on experience conducting site-based safety inspections and audits on active construction sites.
n
Working knowledge of the WHS Act and Regulation, relevant Codes of Practice, and construction-specific high-risk work requirements.
n
Excellent written communication — capable of producing audit reports, procedures, and strategy documents to a high professional standard.

Desirable n
n
Lead Auditor certification (Exemplar Global or equivalent) for ISO ********************.
n
Experience working with Tier 1/2 builders.
n
White Card and any additional construction-related
tickets/competencies.
n
Demonstrated ability to navigate and use construction tech platforms such as HammerTech, Procore, 1Breadcrumb, or similar HSEQ/site management systems.
n
Knowledge of additional frameworks (e.g. ISO *****, ISO *****) is a plus.
n
Candidate Profile n
We're looking for a self-directed consultant with deep construction industry credibility and formal tertiary qualifications — someone who can run client engagements end-to-end, lead workshops with construction executives, write systems, and walk a site conducting audits in the same week.
n
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate compliance requirements into practical, business-friendly solutions is essential.
