The Company: Skyscraper Tower Cranes provides specialised tower crane and mobile crane hire services, supported by experienced riggers, operators and dogmen. Our operations require a robust focus on safety, reliability and the ongoing preparation, repair and maintenance of crane-related steel components and equipment.

The Role: We are seeking a full-time Welder who can work independently and as part of a team to undertake welding, fabrication and repair work associated with our tower crane operations.
n
The successful applicant will be reliable, safety-focused and capable of producing high-quality work in both workshop and construction-site environments.
n
Responsibilities:
n
n
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and job requirements for welding and fabrication work
n
Select, measure and prepare steel and metal components in accordance with drawings and specifications
n
Prepare crane bases, brackets, frames, supports and other steel components, including cutting, grinding and weld preparation
n
Fit, align, assemble and weld metal components using appropriate welding and fabrication techniques
n




Weld and repair steel components used in tower crane installation, support and maintenance operations
n
Drill, cut and finish fabricated components to the required measurements, fit and safety standards
n
Mark out metal stock using templates, gauges and measuring instruments to ensure accurate fabrication
n
Inspect welds and crane-related metal components for defects, cracks or damage and carry out repairs as required
n
Maintain welding and fabrication equipment, a safe work area and effective coordination with riggers, operators and site personnel.
