An exciting opportunity has become available for an experiencedPlant Nursery Machinery Operatorto join their production team.
n
About the Role
n
As a Plant Nursery Machinery Operator, you'll be responsible for operating and setting up specialised nursery production machinery used throughout the propagation and production process.
n
You'll work closely with the Production team to ensure machinery is operating efficiently, product quality is maintained and production targets are achieved.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Operating specialised plant nursery machinery safely and efficiently
n
Setting up machinery for different production requirements
n
Adjusting machine settings to optimise production
n
Performing basic fault finding and troubleshooting
n
Carrying out routine preventative maintenance checks
n
Monitoring production quality and machine performance
n
Assisting with the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
n
Completing production documentation and basic computer-based reporting
n
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work workplace
n
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
n
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you'll bring both technical knowledge and a genuine passion for horticulture.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n




Previous experience working within a commercial plant nursery or horticultural production environment
n
Hands-on experience operating specialised nursery production machinery
n
Experience setting up and adjusting machinery for different production runs
n
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting
n
Experience carrying out routine preventative maintenance
n
Good computer skills
n
A strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
n
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
n
n
Qualifications
n
The following will be highly regarded:
n
n
Certificate III in Production Horticulture
n
Certificate III in Horticulture
n
Certificate III in Protected Horticulture
n
Or relevant industry experience operating specialised nursery production machinery
n
n
