The Opportunity n
In this combined role, you will support the centre as an
Assistant Educator
while also assisting the Centre Chef with food preparation and kitchen duties. As an Assistant Educator, you will work alongside our educators to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for children.
n
As a kitchen support, you will support the preparation and service of nutritious meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and allergy management.
Key Responsibilities Assistant Educator n
n
Support the delivery of engaging learning experiences for children
n
Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families
n
Support children's routines, development and wellbeing
n
Work collaboratively with educators and centre leadership
n
Maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment
n
Support compliance with the National Quality Framework and centre policies
n




Kitchen Support n
n
Assist the Centre Chef with food preparation and meal service
n
Wash, peel and prepare fruit and vegetables
n
Assist with preparing meals and snacks in line with nutrition guidelines
n
Support allergy management and individual dietary requirements
n
Set up food and beverage trays for children
n
Clean kitchen areas, utensils and food preparation spaces
n
Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards
n
About You n
We are looking for someone who is flexible, reliable and passionate about supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
n
n
Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA recognised equivalent qualification
n
Previous experience working in an early childhood setting
n
Comfortable supporting both educator and kitchen responsibilities
n
Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is highly regarded
n
Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety practices
n
Ability to manage allergies and dietary requirements
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
n
Positive, organised and professional approach
n
Essential Requirements n
n
Current Working with Children Check
n
Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or recognised equivalent
n
First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training, or willingness to obtain
n
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain
n
