Traffic Group Australiais seeking an experienced and drivenOperations Managerto join our Mackay team.
This role is ideal for a strong leader with a solid Traffic Management background who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys mentoring and developing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day traffic operations and workforce coordination
Lead, mentor, and support Traffic Controllers and field staff
Conduct inductions, onboarding, and site orientations for recent hires
Deliver training and coaching to Traffic Controllers
Conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) and Drug & Alcohol screening processes
Ensure compliance with company procedures, WHS requirements, and traffic regulations
Assist with rostering, workforce planning, and operational reporting
Maintain strong communication with clients, crews, and management teams
About You
Previous experience in Traffic Management operations or supervision
Strong leadership and people management skills
Ability to work autonomously and lead teams effectively
Confident conducting training, onboarding, and compliance activities




Excellent communication and organisational skills
Flexible and willing to travel when required
Solid understanding of safety and operational procedures
Requirements
Current Traffic Control tickets/licences
Driver's Licence and reliable transport
Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol screening and Functional Capacity Assessment
Previous supervisory experience highly regarded
First Aid (not essential, but required to obtain after employment)
Fire Warden (not essential, but required to obtain after employment)
Drug & Alcohol Testing (not essential, but required to obtain after employment)
