EDUCARE Specialist Services is seeking a dedicatedMedical-Health Receptionistto join our team in Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW on apart-time basis.
This is a crucial frontline position that sets the tone for patient interactions and ensures the smooth operation of our medical facilities.
As a Medical-Health Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing an essential role in creating a welcoming and professional environment whilst managing administrative tasks that support the clinical operations of our specialist services.
Key responsibilities
Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner, and directing them to appropriate areas or staff
Managing patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems, including booking, confirming and rescheduling appointments
Processing patient registration and admission documentation accurately and efficiently
Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate departments or staff members
Maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring compliance with privacy legislation and practice policies
Processing payments and managing administrative billing functions as required
Managing patient records and maintaining accurate filing systems
Providing information to patients about services, procedures and appointments
Supporting the clinical and administrative teams with routine office tasks to ensure efficient service delivery
Maintaining a clean and organised reception area
What we're looking for
Previous experience working as a receptionist,
preferably in a medical or healthcare setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient groups
Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records software
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and understanding of healthcare privacy requirements
A professional demeanour with a customer-service-focused approach
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with administrative tasks
Relevant qualifications in reception, administration or healthcare support (preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology (advantageous)
