We are looking for a Trade Assistant to join our team, assisting with the fabrication and installation of sheet metal air conditioning ductwork.
n
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things properly, and has a solid mechanical aptitude and practical problem‐solving ability. Previous experience in sheet metal, construction, air conditioning, manufacturing or a similar trade environment is highly regarded, but we are also open to the right person with the right attitude and aptitude.

About the role
n
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will assist with:
n
n
Fabrication and assembly of sheet metal air conditioning ductwork
n
Cutting, measuring, drilling and fitting sheet metal components
n
Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
n
Loading, unloading and handling materials
n
Assisting tradespeople with installation work on commercial building sites
n
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
n
Following plans, measurements and instructions accurately
n
Learning new skills and developing your trade knowledge
n

About you
n

Has strong practical and mechanical aptitude
n
Is confident using basic hand and power tools
n
Can measure accurately and follow instructions
n
Has good attention to detail and takes pride in quality workmanship
n
Is physically capable of working with materials and equipment
n
Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn
n
Works well as part of a team
n
Has a strong commitment to workplace health and safety
n
Previous experience in sheet metal, ductwork, construction, manufacturing or a trade environment is advantageous
n
n
You don't necessarily need to have years of industry experience — we're looking for someone who is capable, switched‐on and enjoys working with their hands.
