Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Laser Programmer / CAD Draftsman to join our team.
n
This is an important role within our business, working closely with production to take customer drawings and requirements through to accurate, efficient manufacture.

This is an important role within our business, working closely with production to take customer drawings and requirements through to accurate, efficient manufacture.

About the Role
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
CAD drafting and sheet metal design
n
Preparing and processing customer drawings for manufacture
n
Programming and nesting for TRUMPF laser cutting machines
n
Preparing and processing production work orders
n
Reviewing drawings, DXF files and customer specifications
n
Developing parts and assemblies for laser cutting and bending
n
Ensuring parts are designed and programmed for efficient manufacture
n
Working closely with laser, bending and fabrication teams
n
Identifying potential manufacturing issues before jobs reach production
n
Assisting with material utilisation, nesting and production efficiency
n




Maintaining accurate job and drawing information
n
n
We are looking for someone with a strong background in sheet metal manufacturing, CAD programming or
mechanical/engineering
drafting.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Strong experience in laser cutting, CNC bending and sheet metal fabrication
n
Experience programming CNC laser cutting machines
n
Experience with TRUMPF software highly regarded
n
Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
n
Strong understanding of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes
n
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
n
Understanding of tolerances, materials and fabrication requirements
n
Ability to take a job from customer drawing through to production
n
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
n
n
A mechanical engineering, drafting or relevant
trade/manufacturing
background will be highly regarded.
