Cossar Farms is an established, progressive, family-owned agricultural business operating in Central Victoria. Spread across three key locations in Natte Yallock, Baringhup/Moolort, and Elmore, the enterprise successfully balances extensive broadacre cropping, a livestock program of 800 Merino wethers, and seasonal fat lambs finished in a semi-feedlot system. The Role
The Senior Farm Hand will take on a key operational role within a highly collaborative team environment. This position offers fantastic day-to-day variety across extensive cropping, hay, irrigation, livestock and broadacre operations, allowing you to build on your expertise while enjoying genuine operational autonomy.
Your contributions will directly impact seasonal success, from paddock preparations and harvest execution to workshop servicing and equipment maintenance. It is a rewarding position designed for someone who thrives on responsibility, teamwork, and the satisfaction of working on a prominent, well-run agricultural property. As part of the role, you will be required to operate a Goldacres boomspray or be motivated and eager to be fully upskilled in its operation.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a proactive, mechanical-minded agricultural professional who brings strong cooperation, confidence, and a genuine passion for farming to a family team.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of broadacre cropping and farm operations experience.
Operational Versatility:
Skilled in broadacre operations including sowing, harvesting, hay production, and spraying (Spray Rig experience preferred).
Mechanical Knowledge:
Sound mechanical aptitudes to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing using the extensive on-site workshop.
Equipment Pride:
Takes great personal pride in the ongoing care, maintenance, and setup of all farm assets and machinery.
Licensing:
A current heavy-vehicle truck license and a chemical certificate are advantageous.
Personality & Fit:
Team-oriented team player, highly dependable, open communicator, and enthusiastic about the daily variety of large-scale farming.
