JM Plumbing and Excavation is seeking a skilled and experienced
Plumber
to join our growing team in Hume, ACT. This is a
full-time position
offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of plumbing projects in the local area. As a Plumber, you will be at the heart of our operations, delivering high-quality plumbing services to our residential and commercial clients. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction across all projects.
What you'll be doing
Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures and fittings for residential and commercial properties
Diagnosing plumbing problems using a range of tools and techniques, and implementing effective solutions
Reading and interpreting blueprints and plumbing codes to ensure work meets all relevant standards and regulations
Conducting routine inspections and maintenance work to prevent potential issues and extend the lifespan of plumbing systems
Collaborating with other tradespeople and construction teams on larger projects
Ensuring all work sites are kept clean, safe and compliant with occupational health and safety requirements
Providing excellent customer service and clear communication regarding work completed and any issues identified
Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken and materials used
What we're looking for
A recognised plumbing qualification or apprenticeship completion, with current plumbing licensing and certifications as required in the ACT
Proven experience working as a qualified plumber in residential and/or commercial settings
Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and best practice installation techniques
Competency in using standard plumbing tools and diagnostic equipment




Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plumbing specifications
A solid understanding of relevant plumbing codes, building standards and safety regulations
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and other tradespeople
A commitment to health and safety practices on all job sites
Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to all work undertaken
A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport
