TheDeputyAssociateispartofasmallteamwhoassisttheJudgeintheday-to-daymanagementofChambersandCourt.ThisrolealsoassistswiththepreparationofCourtmaterialsforthejudgeandinvolvesundertakinglegalresearchandassistingwithjudgmentpreparationasrequired.
AssisttheJudgewiththemanagementofcasesand,asrequired,enterdataintotheCourt'scasemanagementsystemstoreflecttheoutcomesofCourtevents;
AssistwiththepreparationofmattersforboththeCourtandtheJudge,whichmayincludethepreparationofcasesummaries,generalfilemaintenanceandothertasksasrequired;
AssisttheJudgewiththepreparationanddeliveryofjudgments,whichmayincludeundertakingcomplexlegalresearchaswellaseditinginlinewiththeCourts'judgmentspublicationstandards;
Assistwiththegeneraloperationofchambers;and
Otherduties,asrequired.
Qualifications
Itisamandatorythatcandidateshavecompleted(ornearcompleted)aqualificationinlawwithastrongacademicrecord.Candidatesaretohavecompletedthefamilylawsubjectorhaveastronginterestinfamilylaw.

Well-developedinterpersonalskillsincludingtact,discretion,initiativeandtheabilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithmembersofthejudiciary,thelegalprofession,thepublicandothercourtstaff.
Abilitytoundertakelegalresearch(includingon-lineresearch)andpreparereportsandwrittencorrespondence.
Demonstratedorganisationalskills,includingtheabilitytomanagepriorities,meetdeadlinesandworkeffectivelyunderpressureinateamenvironment.
Demonstratedhigh-levelkeyboardskillsandabilitytouserelevantsoftwareapplicationsincludingMicrosoftOfficeapplicationsandtheInternet.
Theabilitytoadapttochangingsituationsandprioritiesandparticipateincollectiveworkpractices.
Theabilitytotraveloncircuits.
