Senior Lawyer - Commercial Property or Commercial Litigation n
Depending on the successful candidate's experience, the role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of commercial property or commercial litigation matters, providing strategic advice to clients and contributing to the continued development of the firm's practice. The position may be based in the Traralgon or Warragul office, with work across both locations as required.

Key responsibilities
n
For candidates specialising in small business enterprises and commercial property:
n
Advising on commercial and industrial property transactions
n
Drafting and negotiating contracts of sale
n
Acting in acquisitions, disposals and property developments
n
Preparing and negotiating commercial and retail leases
n
Advising landlords and tenants on leasing issues
n
Managing due diligence, finance and settlement processes
n
Advising on property-related business transactions
n
Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and support staff, where appropriate
n
For candidates specialising in commercial litigation:
n
Managing commercial disputes from initial instructions through to resolution
n
Advising on litigation strategy, risk and settlement options
n
Conducting matters in Victorian and federal courts and tribunals
n
Preparing pleadings, affidavits, submissions and other court documents
n
Managing commercial debt recovery and insolvency matters
n
Briefing and working with counsel, experts and other stakeholders
n
Conducting settlement negotiations
n
Preparing for and attending mediations, conferences and hearings
n
About you
n
Minimum three years' post-admission experience in commercial property,



commercial litigation or a related commercial practice
n
Current admission as an Australian legal practitioner and entitlement to practise in Victoria
n
Demonstrated ability to manage files autonomously and meet competing deadlines
n
Sound technical legal skills and strong commercial judgement
n
Clear written and verbal communication skills
n
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach to client service
n
Robust negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
n
An interest in developing enduring client relationships and contributing to business development
n
The ability to work autonomously while collaborating with lawyers and support staff across the firm
