ET Fabrication is a family-owned steel fabrication business based in Bayswater North. We specialise in structural steel, custom fabrication, and project-based work, delivering high-quality workmanship for a diverse range of clients.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team.
This is not a production welding role. We are looking for a skilled tradesperson who can read plans, think critically, solve problems, and fabricate projects from start to finish. The successful applicant will be confident interpreting drawings, identifying potential issues, and developing practical solutions when plans or site conditions don't tell the whole story.

Full-time permanent position (following a 3-month probation period)
Casual employment may also be considered for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and weld structural steel, mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium components
Read and interpret engineering, architectural, and shop drawings
Manufacture projects from raw materials through to completed assemblies
Identify fabrication, design, or installation challenges and develop practical solutions
Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding as required
Carry out cutting, drilling, grinding, folding, fitting, and assembly work
Complete onsite installation work when required
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control




Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys the challenge of building projects rather than simply welding parts together.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
Work independently with minimal supervision
Read and interpret technical drawings confidently
Think ahead and identify issues before they become problems
Adapt designs where required to achieve practical outcomes
Take ownership of projects from fabrication through to installation
Produce high-quality work and maintain attention to detail
Communicate effectively with management, clients, and other trades
Skills & Experience
Trade qualification in Fabrication/Welding or relevant industry experience
Strong fabrication experience across structural steel and general metal fabrication
Proven ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
Sound knowledge of MIG, TIG, and ARC welding processes
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to work both onsite and within a fabrication workshop
Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Physically fit and capable of manual work
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Highly Regarded
High Risk Work Licences
Welding certifications (AS****)
EWP, Working at Heights, or Construction White Card
