Family Helper / Babysitter (Baby + Light Household
We're a small family in Elwood looking for a warm, reliable and proactive mother's helper / family helper to support me at home with our lovely 1-year-old daughter.
This is a little different from a traditional nanny role. I'll usually be at home and will remain our daughter's primary carer. What I'm really looking for is an extra pair of capable hands to make the day run more smoothly.
Depending on what's needed that day, the role might include:
Playing with our daughter, or reading with her or taking her for a walk while I cook, work, shower or get something done
Helping with her meals and snacks
Tidying her play and eating areas
Putting on or folding a load of laundry
Unpacking/loading the dishwasher and resetting the kitchen
Light meal preparation or chopping vegetables




General tidying and helping keep the household flowing
This is not a heavy cleaning role — we're looking for someone who naturally notices what needs doing and is happy to move between helping with our daughter and helping around the home.
The right person will be kind, calm, trustworthy and comfortable around a young toddler. Experience with babies/toddlers is very welcome, but just as key to us is someone who is sensible, warm and genuinely enjoys being part of family life.
We'd love to find someone local who can come regularly during the week and hopefully become a familiar, trusted person in our daughter's life and our home.
We're based in Elwood and currently offering $35/hour.
