Disability Support Worker – 1:1 Complex Care n
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to provide 1:1 care to a participant who is wheelchair-bound and requires a high level of skilled, hands-on support. This is an urgent requirement with an immediate start available.
About the Role n
You will support a participant who:
n
n
Is wheelchair-bound and requires manual handling for all transfers
n
Requires PEG feeding support
n
Requires catheter-related care
n
Requires assistance with diabetes management
n
Requires support with all activities of daily living
n
Key Responsibilities n
n
Prepare meals in line with dietary requirements
n
Administer medication as per care plan
n
Perform protected manual handling and wheelchair transfers
n
Provide catheter-related support
n
Administer PEG feeds in line with clinical guidelines
n
Support diabetes management (training provided)
n




Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting
n
Communicate professionally with family, guardians and other stakeholders
n
Essential Experience & Skills n
n
Practical, hands-on experience in personal care
n
Practical experience in PEG feeding
n
Practical experience with hoist transfers and manual handling
n
Practical experience with catheter-related support
n
Good English proficiency, written and verbal
n
Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in a hands-on care setting
n
Requirements n
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
n
Current First Aid & CPR
n
Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
n
Willingness to complete diabetes management training if not already held.
