About the Role
This isn't a role about running HR process.
You'll operate as a genuine strategic partner to the Technology and Product leadership teams, helping shape, own, and deliver the people strategy that drives their goals and, in turn, Redgate's wider goals.
You'll sit inside the leadership team's regular rhythm, seeing the roadmap and trade-offs early enough to shape them, not just react once there's a people problem




Full ownership of the people strategy for Technology and Product: headcount plan, org design, succession, and retention, agreed directly with the functional exec
Real thought leadership beyond your own patch: spot patterns across functions (promotion criteria that don't hold up, gaps in how senior hires are onboarded) and bring them to the wider People Partner team
Coach and challenge leaders directly, including pushing back on a VP or exec when the data or your judgement says they've got it wrong
Find practical ways to bring AI into how the function and the People Partner team work, not as a bolt-on
What Makes You a Outstanding Fit
Solid experience as a strategic People Partner or HR Business Partner in a high-growth or fast-changing business, ideally tech or SaaS, partnering directly with product or engineering leadership
A commercial mindset: able to connect the business issue behind a people problem and the people issue behind a business problem, with a track record of turning that into commercial outcomes
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and make decisions stick without relying on formal authority
Confident using people metrics (attrition, engagement, hiring velocity, time to fill) to diagnose what's really going on, not just report on it
Evidence of shaping how a People team works, not just delivering inside your own area, for example building a framework or fixing a broken process
