As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the ATSICHS The Brighter Futures Program, also known in the sector as the Extended Post Care Service(EPCS), supports young people transitioning out of the child protection system at the age of 18 across the Brisbane region.
The program offers intensive, one-on-one case management through an assertive outreach model, focusing on enhancing independent living skills for those with complex backgrounds and limited support.
Financial support is a key component, helping young adults manage the costs of independent living and strengthening their financial decision‐making skills in line with their transition goals.
Duties
Effectively engage clients through cold-call home-based visits.
Deliver immediate safety assessment and safety responses, documented and approved by line-Manager, in instances of domestic and family violence, self-harm/mental health, and child abuse.
Facilitate ATSICHS 'Narrative Assessment Tools' completed in full by client ensuring the voices of clients are imbedded in their assessment.
Facilitate conversations and introspection on all assessment domains.
Lead tough conversations with clients, outlining non-negotiables of statutory bodies (Child Safety, Police, Courts, Youth Justice etc.).
Build change readiness of clients through motivational interviewing strategies and positive reinforcement.
Deliver Empowerment Interventions that Build Client Belief, Motivation, and Self-Sufficiency.
Maintain accurate and detailed case notes of all client interactions,



ensuring case notes are written from the perspective of clients in their voice.
All client details, consents, assessments and records are current, completed in full and uploaded into case management system.

Starting salary of$105,673 + 12% super.
Permanent Full-Time position.
Company laptop & mobile phone.
Salary package up to $15,900 net and add Entertainment Benefits up to $2,649 every Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year.
Adaptable rostering hours/9 day fortnight options available.

Desired Skills and Experience
Required
Bachelor's degreein a relevant social services field withat least 4 yearscase managementexperiencein family support, child protection, youth support,housingor related field.

Diplomain relevant Community/Services fieldwithat least 6 years in a case management rolein family support, child protection, youth support,housingor related field.
OR
At least6 years case managementexperiencein family support, child protection, youth,housingor related field.
Acommitment tocomplete Diploma(funded by ATSICHS) while working.Andidentify asAboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander(with confirmationproof)ORnon-indigenous and having worked for an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation forat least 4 years.
AND
Exceptionalcase management skills,includinggrammaticalwritingability, personal organisationand time management,and execution of services according to themodel of care phases of work.
Demonstratedability tounderstand and createnewsocial worktheoreticalframeworks ofpractice, aligned with ATSICHSvalues.Ability tocoach other staff onclient interventionsthatbuildclientmotivation,insight andacceptance,self-awareness,decision making (agency),andsustainable behaviour change.
Abilityto applytechnicalknowledgeof relevant legislation(child protection/housing/youth justice etc).
Ability toproblemsolvelegislativegreyzones, while managingorganisational and child/clientharm risks.
Abilitytoproactively developstrong working relationshipswith/influencedecisions ofexternal stakeholders, includingChild Safety,Youth Justice,Schools, andHospitals.
Abilitytoconnectthrough systems panel coordinationnumerousinternal ATSICHS programs and services toactivatewrap-around care forclients,trading-off and negotiating resources across theorganisationand between other teamsto achieveclient impact.
Additional Requirements
National Police Certificate.
Current Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible toapply.
Driver's Licence.
Evidence of Work Rights.
Travel to work in the community on a regular basis.
