The Opportunity With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power Connection capability and is seeking an experienced Principal / Team Lead Power Systems Engineer to lead and shape a growing team while delivering high-quality technical outcomes.
This senior leadership role is suited to an engineer with specialist expertise in grid connection studies from concept through to execution.
You will be instrumental in delivering complex data centre, renewable energy and energy storage projects, advancing technical standards and supporting the continued growth of Fyfe's sustainable energy portfolio.
The Impact You'll Have Lead generation and load connection projects from initial advisory and feasibility through to impact assessments and execution across major developments, including data centres, industrial facilities, hydrogen, solar and battery energy storage projects.
Provide technical leadership across grid connection studies, including R0, R1 and R2 requirements.
Lead and mentor engineers, building capability and fostering technical excellence across the team.
Oversee project delivery to ensure outcomes meet quality, cost, safety and schedule requirements.
Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems and deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions.
Develop and improve technical standards, methodologies and frameworks across Fyfe's Power Connection capability.
Build strong relationships with clients, AEMO, network service providers and project partners.
What You'll Bring A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering,



Power Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 10 years' experience in power systems engineering and grid connection projects, with demonstrated technical leadership.
Strong knowledge of R0, R1 and R2 connection studies, the National Electricity Rules, AEMO processes and network service provider technical requirements.
Proficiency in power systems analysis software such as PSS®E, PSCAD and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
Chartered Professional Engineer status and RPEQ or RPEV registration are desirable.
Proven experience leading complex technical workstreams, projects and engineering teams.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
The ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on with complex technical delivery.
