Our client, NORWEST, is a growing Civil Construction & Logistics Company based in the Karratha and Wickham area of Western Australia. They are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter (General) to join their growing team.

About the Role
As a Fitter (General), you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair and servicing of a range of plant, machinery and equipment used across civil construction and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities include:
Inspect, maintain and repair mechanical plant, machinery and equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair and maintenance requirements
Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment
Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components and machinery
Perform mechanical repairs and adjustments to plant and equipment
Conduct servicing and routine maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and workplace requirements
Carry out welding, fabrication and fitting work where required
Inspect machinery and equipment to identify faults, wear and potential safety issues
Replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical components
Conduct testing and operational checks following repairs and maintenance
Complete maintenance records, service reports and other required documentation accurately
Conduct pre-start inspections and report equipment faults or maintenance requirements
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures
Maintain tools,



equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition
Liaise professionally with supervisors, operators and other team members
Assist with general mechanical and maintenance activities as required
Perform overtime when required to meet operational requirements

Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter (General) or equivalent
Previous experience working as a fitter in civil construction, heavy equipment, mining, logistics or a related industry
Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance, repairs and servicing
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working with mobile plant, machinery and mechanical equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications
Experience with preventative and scheduled maintenance
Strong understanding of protected mechanical work practices and workplace safety requirements
Ability to use a range of mechanical tools and equipment safely and effectively
Good organisational and time-management skills
Ability to complete maintenance records and documentation accurately
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable, positive and professional attitude
Flexibility and willingness to perform overtime when required

Essential Requirements
Relevant trade qualification in Fitting and/or Mechanical Engineering
Demonstrated experience as a Fitter (General)
Relevant experience maintaining and repairing plant, machinery and mechanical equipment
