About the role

We are seeking a talented Graduate Accountant to join our team at our South Melbourne office on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work alongside experienced accounting professionals to develop your expertise in taxation and general accounting practices. As a Graduate Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting our clients with their accounting needs whilst building a solid foundation in your accounting career. This position offers excellent opportunities to gain practical experience across a variety of tax and accounting matters, working with real clients and contributing meaningfully to the firm's success.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of tax returns for individual and corporate clients

- Supporting the completion of financial statements and accounting records for clients

- Conducting research on taxation legislation and accounting standards to ensure compliance

- Performing account reconciliations and general bookkeeping tasks

- Liaising with clients to gather necessary information and clarify accounting requirements

- Supporting senior accountants with audit and review procedures

- Contributing to tax planning discussions and strategies for clients

- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with professional standards

- Attending client meetings and assisting with client relationship management activities

What we're looking for





- A Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, recently completed or recently graduated

- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, tax law, and financial reporting standards

- Proficiency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications

- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

- A commitment to professional development and obtaining relevant accounting qualifications such as CPA or CA Australia

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- A genuine interest in taxation and accounting practices

- Preferred: Experience or knowledge of tax compliance, superannuation, or small business accounting

- Preferred: Practical experience gained through internships, university placements, or casual accounting work
