Are you an experienced Quality Assurance or Test Automation Engineer who enjoys getting hands-on with technology and building quality into software from the outset?

Join a global mining OEM and technology leader developing sophisticated software solutions used across mining operations around the world.

You'll work alongside talented software engineers, product specialists and technical teams developing technology that processes large volumes of real-time information from machines, sensors, onboard systems and control technologies.

This isn't a role focused simply on executing test cases. You'll take ownership of quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle, combining test automation, exploratory testing, API testing and modern quality engineering practices to ensure complex software performs reliably in real-world environments.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for:

- Taking end-to-end ownership of quality across user stories, from defining the test approach through to execution, evidence and sign-off
- Designing, developing and maintaining automated tests across UI, APIs and backend services
- Building and improving reliable and maintainable automation frameworks
- Testing REST APIs, including positive and negative scenarios, authentication, authorisation and role-based access
- Creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, reusable scenarios and test reporting
- Planning and undertaking regression, acceptance and exploratory testing
- Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and monitoring test execution
- Troubleshooting failed and flaky tests and identifying underlying root causes
- Supporting test environments and test data
- Working closely with software engineers, Product Owners and technical stakeholders to identify quality risks early
- Promoting shift-left testing and embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle




- Contributing to continuous improvement of QA standards, automation, processes and quality gates
- Applying risk-based testing approaches to ensure testing effort is focused where it delivers the greatest value

What We're Looking For
We're looking for experienced QA and Test Automation Engineers who bring a strong combination of quality engineering, software testing and automation.

Ideally, you'll have:

- 4+ years' experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation or a similar software testing role
- Strong experience designing, developing and maintaining automated test suites
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or similar UI automation technologies
- Experience testing REST APIs
- Strong understanding of Agile software delivery, SDLC and shift-left quality practices
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting and defect analysis skills
- Experience across automated and manual testing, including exploratory, regression and acceptance testing
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with software engineers, product teams and other technical stakeholders

Technology Environment
Experience with some of the following would be highly regarded:

- TypeScript / JavaScript
- Java, C# or Python
- Playwright
- Cucumber / BDD
- REST APIs
- Git and GitHub
- GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins
- Microservices
- Kubernetes and containerised platforms
- AWS / cloud-native environments
- MQTT or event-driven architectures




- Performance testing tools such as k6, Gatling or JMeter

You don't need experience with every technology listed. Strong automation fundamentals, engineering thinking and the ability to learn and adapt to different product environments are most important.

Highly Regarded
Previous experience within mining technology, industrial software, robotics, automation, heavy equipment or safety-critical systems would be highly regarded.

Location & Eligibility
This position is based in the Brisbane CBD and requires attendance in the office five days per week. It is not a hybrid or remote position.

Due to the onsite nature of the role, candidates currently residing within the Greater Brisbane area will be preferred.
