Role details

The Mental Health Inpatient Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications from an Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or Social Worker to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your prospect

To provide high level complex clinical assessment, treatment and consultancy services, operating with a significant degree of independence and autonomy to clients in the inpatient Mental Health Unit.

About the Team

The Mental Health Inpatient Unit provides care to people who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness. If a person is admitted to an acute inpatient unit, it is often because their mental illness is not manageable in a less restrictive setting, such as community-based support. Acute inpatient treatment services provide care to individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of serious mental illness including Depression, Schizophrenia, Schizo-affective disorder,



bipolar disorder and personality disorder.

About our Hospital and Health Service

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
