Our client, NORWEST, is a growing Civil Construction & Logistics Company based in the Karratha and Wickham area of Western Australia. They are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Excavator Operator to join their growing team.

About the Role
As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators across civil construction, earthworks and related site activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Safely operate excavators of various sizes and configurations
Carry out excavation, trenching, earthmoving and site preparation activities
Load and move materials safely and efficiently
Perform bulk earthworks and detailed excavation as required
Assist with site preparation, drainage and civil construction activities
Operate attachments such as buckets, hydraulic breakers and other equipment as required
Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
Identify and report equipment faults, defects and maintenance requirements
Ensure excavators and attachments are operated in accordance with manufacturer specifications
Follow site plans, instructions and directions from supervisors
Maintain accurate operational records and required documentation




Follow workplace health and safety procedures and site requirements
Maintain plant, equipment and work areas in a protected and orderly condition
Work effectively with other operators, supervisors and site personnel
Assist with general civil construction activities as required
Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning as required
Perform overtime when required to meet operational requirements

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant excavator operator tickets, licences and/or nationally recognised competencies
Demonstrated experience operating excavators in civil construction or earthworks
Experience operating excavators of different sizes is desirable
Experience with trenching, excavation, earthworks and site preparation
Ability to operate excavator attachments safely and efficiently
Strong understanding of safe plant operation and workplace health and safety requirements
Ability to conduct pre-start inspections and identify equipment faults
Ability to follow site plans, instructions and operational procedures
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Reliable, positive and professional attitude
Flexibility and willingness to assist with different civil construction activities
