About the role

Multiphase has been in Melbourne's fire protection industry for 29 years, and we're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This is not a training role. We need someone who can take a panel, interrogate it, find the fault and fix it without being walked through it. You'll be trusted with commissioning, fault-finding and compliance work across some of Melbourne's best-known addresses, from heritage landmarks to major commercial towers and critical infrastructure sites. There's real variety and real responsibility, and you'll work with a team that respects experienced technicians and lets them get on with the job.

Key responsibilities

- Servicing and maintaining fire alarm panels and Emergency Warning Systems (Ampac, Notifier, Simplex, Pertronic)

- Programming, commissioning and fault-finding on complex systems

- System interrogation and clear, detailed defect reporting

- Emergency and exit lighting testing and installation

- Rotating after-hours on-call roster

- Work carried out in accordance with AS 1851-2012, AS 1670 and AS 2293

About you





- Proven fire alarm experience (typically 4+ years), including programming and commissioning, not just routine testing

- Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence

- Open Cabling (Communications) Licence

- Current Victorian Driver's Licence

- Confident across multiple panel brands

- Solid working knowledge of AS 1851 and related Australian Standards

- Professional presentation and good communication with clients and building managers

- Working with Children Check and current Police Check (renewed annually), or willingness to obtain them
