Due to continued business growth, we are currently seeking motivated, reliable, and experienced Environmental Officer to join our team based at 78 Old Gympie Road, Caboolture, 4510, Qld.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and maintain compliance with applicable environmental legislation, regulations, licences, permits and Environmental Authority conditions.

- Maintain an environmental compliance register and ensure relevant obligations are identified and monitored.

- Monitor compliance against Environmental Authority conditions and any other environmental approval requirements.

- Identify potential areas of environmental non-compliance and promptly escalate concerns to management.

- Assist management in responding to regulatory requests, notices, inspections and environmental enquiries.

- Maintain accurate environmental records and evidence of compliance.





- Ensure environmental documentation is current, controlled and readily available for audits and inspections.

- Assist with preparation of regulatory and management reports.

- Monitor the site's wastewater and trade waste management systems.

- Conduct regular inspections of wastewater systems, drainage and associated environmental infrastructure.

- Identify abnormal conditions, spills, discharges or potential environmental impacts and escalate immediately.

- Maintain records of wastewater monitoring, testing, maintenance and corrective actions.

- Assist with identifying opportunities to reduce water consumption and improve water efficiency.

- Support external contractors and laboratories undertaking environmental sampling and testing.

- Monitor potential sources of odour generated by meat-processing operations.

- Develop and implement an environmental auditing and inspection program

- Investigate environmental complaints from community or the regulator.

Qualification

- Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering or Sustainability or equivalent.

- Solid understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.

- Environmental auditing qualifications are advantageous.

- Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing or processing environment.

Experience

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an environmental role, manufacturing, transport or logistics.

- Experience in the meat industry is highly desirable.

- Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting.

- Experiencing in both managing and developing an environmental management system
