About the role

David Glock Automotive is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team in Armidale, NSW. This is a full-time position based at our workshop, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standard. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs and maintenance work, and ensuring that all vehicles leaving our facility are safe and roadworthy. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers and maintaining the reputation David Glock Automotive has built in the local community.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection techniques

- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and tyre rotations

- Repair and replace vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, steering, transmission and engine parts

- Maintain accurate work records and documentation for all repairs and services completed

- Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe in accordance with health and safety regulations

- Stay current with vehicle technology and maintenance procedures through ongoing training and development

- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient workshop operations

What we're looking for

- A recognised automotive trade qualification or apprenticeship in automotive mechanics

- Current driver's licence (manual and automatic)

- Proven experience working as an automotive mechanic, ideally in a workshop environment

- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and electrical systems

- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand tools

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins





- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude with excellent communication skills

- Valid working rights in Australia

- A willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training
