About Crew Services Group

Crew Services Group is a leading Australian retail services business delivering field operations, merchandising, store support, installations, shopfitting and racking solutions to some of Australia’s largest retailers and brands.

As our business continues to grow and diversify, we are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Category Manager to join our team and take ownership of key service categories, customer opportunities and growth initiatives.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, the Category Manager will be responsible for driving the commercial performance, development and growth of designated categories across the business.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who understands the Australian retail environment, can build strong customer relationships and is equally comfortable analysing commercial performance, developing opportunities and working closely with operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.

You will play an important role in identifying where Crew Services Group can expand its services with existing customers while also developing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with the company’s overall growth objectives.

- Take ownership of the commercial performance and growth of assigned categories.

- Identify new revenue opportunities across existing and prospective customers.

- Build strong relationships with retailers, suppliers and key customer stakeholders.

- Develop customer proposals, pricing models and commercial solutions.

- Analyse category performance, market trends, customer activity and competitor movements.

- Work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure new opportunities can be delivered effectively and profitably.

- Assist with tenders, presentations, contract negotiations and major customer proposals.

- Identify opportunities to introduce additional Crew Services Group capabilities to existing customers.





- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and provide regular reporting on category performance and growth.

- Ensure commercial agreements deliver sustainable margins and appropriate returns.

- Represent Crew Services Group professionally with customers and industry partners.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, proactive and understands how to turn customer relationships and market opportunities into sustainable business growth.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Category Manager, National Account Manager, Business Development Manager or similar commercial role.

- Strong experience within retail, FMCG, hardware, merchandising, field services or a related industry.

- A solid understanding of the Australian retail landscape.

- Demonstrated experience managing major customer relationships.

- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing and margin management.

- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.

- The ability to analyse data and translate insights into commercial opportunities.

- A cooperative approach and the ability to work effectively with Sales, Operations and senior leadership.

- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for results.

- The ability to work independently in a rapid-paced and growing organisation.
