Next Level Consulting is currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing operation in Bathurst.
The business is part of a global organisation specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of railway infrastructure. The Bathurst facility produces complex, heavy-duty steel components used across railway, metro and light rail networks, with a strong focus on quality, precision and safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified Boilermaker who enjoys hands-on fabrication work, working with heavy steel and being part of a specialised manufacturing environment.
About the Role
Working as part of an experienced workshop team, you will be involved in the fabrication and assembly of large and complex steel components used in railway infrastructure.
Your duties will include:

- Fabricating and assembling structural and heavy steel components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
- Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing materials
- MIG/MAG welding and general fabrication
- Fitting and assembling components to tight specifications
- Using workshop machinery and fabrication equipment
- Carrying out grinding, gouging and other preparation work
- Working with large and heavy steel components
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality and dimensional requirements
- Working collaboratively with welders, fitters, machinists and other trades
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
- Following established quality, safety and production procedures

About You




The successful applicant will have the following

- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent
- Strong welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working with structural or heavy steel
- Good measuring, fitting and fabrication skills
- A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A strong safety mindset and reliable work ethic

The Background We're Looking For
Experience in heavy engineering, mining equipment, structural steel, rail, transport equipment, industrial fabrication or similar environments would be highly regarded.
You don't necessarily need previous rail experience. What's important is that you have the fabrication fundamentals, can work accurately from drawings and are comfortable working on large-scale, heavy steel assemblies.
